Product intro and specs
I reviewed the original NeXLIM at the beginning of 2025, and it set the standard for the rest of the year. Amazing flavor, slick design, large battery, 4 mL capacity—it was one of the best pod vapes I had ever used. Given its massive success, I expected the sequel to arrive sooner, but I also respect companies that refuse to rush products to market. 18 months later, the successor has finally arrived! Let’s take a look at the new OXVA NeXLIM 2 and its baby brother, the NeXLIM 2 Mini.
Although it isn’t a complete overhaul, the V2 includes some key improvements. It features a much larger 2000 mAh battery, 3-amp charging, and new UNITECH 3.0 pods. The smaller 2 Mini also offers some great features, including a 1500 mAh battery and two power modes.
Does the NeXLIM 2 surpass the original, or is it more of the same? My answer: yes! I realize that doesn’t make sense now, but hopefully it will by the end of the review. Keep reading!

Build quality and design
As much as I appreciated the build quality of the original, OXVA stepped up its game with the NeXLIM 2. The handfeel and style are very similar, but the construction feels more refined and premium. Note that I only received a “leather” version, so I can’t comment on the others. The panels are more like rubber than leather, but I prefer it that way. The rugged texture provides a nice grip. Both the panels and the metal frame are remarkably fingerprint-resistant, which always scores big points from me.
It’s a tall device, as expected of a NeXLIM, but it’s also sleek and pocket-friendly. The iconic circular screen is still 0.85 inches like the original, but a bezel now accents it. A minor improvement, yes, but it really sets off the aesthetic, complementing the thin metal strips that frame the panels.
The device features a button on one side (not for firing) and an airflow slider on the other. Both have excellent tension, but I was somewhat disappointed by the airflow. There is no pinhole when the airflow is closed off (it’s the same on the Mini). It’s a puzzling omission since OXVA previously implemented this in the NeXLIM GO and the newest XLIM devices. Achieving a tight MTL draw is certainly possible; it’s just not as easy or smooth as it could be.
The NeXLIM 2 Mini is much simpler, even in its presentation. It’s constructed of a single piece of aluminum alloy, with a subtle pattern along the upper third of the chassis. As the name implies, it’s more compact than the full-size version, which improves hand feel and stealth capabilities.
Despite its simplicity, the 2 Mini has one trick up its sleeve. It features a touch-sensitive button on the side of the device (above the charging port) to switch power modes. An LED on the front panel indicates the mode and battery status.
I also received OXVA’s NeXLIM 2 World Cup gift box along with the standard review samples. It includes every pod in the lineup, as well as limited editions of both devices. They function exactly like the standard versions, but with unique styles and colors.
Getting started
Starting with the NeXLIM 2 Mini: lift the rubber plug on the side of the pod and fill. If it’s a new pod, wait at least five minutes before inserting it into the device and vaping. Tap the touch sensor on the side of the device twice to toggle between ECO (solid light) and BOOST (multi-color) modes. You can also adjust the airflow slider on the opposing side to dial in your preferred draw.
Moving on to the full-featured NeXLIM 2, here’s a click tutorial:
- One click to wake the screen
- Two clicks to switch power modes (ECO or BOOST)
- Three clicks to adjust wattage
- Four clicks to change themes (must press and hold to confirm choice)
- Five clicks to turn the device on or off
- Six clicks to turn animations on or off
- Seven clicks to clear puffs
- Long-press to view the operating guide
As usual, OXVA included a quick-start guide in the packaging and in the menu, which is always helpful when learning a new device.
Unlike the Mini, the full-size version features a clickable button and a color screen. The screen may be nearly identical to the original, but OXVA slightly enhanced the menu. They added an option to turn off animations (six clicks), and it’s now easier to shuffle through the themes. Three themes are available out of the box, plus you can unlock others once you reach certain puff tiers
The power mode functionality (BOOST and ECO) remains unchanged. Each mode offers predefined ranges:
0.6-ohm pod
- Recommended: 20-40 watts
- ECO: 5-25 watts
- BOOST: 10-40 watts
0.8-ohm pod
- Recommended: 12-32 watts
- ECO: 5-18 watts
- BOOST: 10-32 watts
I’ve always appreciated this feature because it almost functions like a pair of presets. Maybe you enjoy a 30-watt RDL vape and a 15-watt MTL vape. It only requires a double-click to jump between the two settings. There is also a noticeable difference in power. According to OXVA, ECO mode activates one coil, while BOOST mode activates two. Even at the same wattage, the extra coil in BOOST mode delivers a more intense experience.
Performance
Both kits include upgraded UNITECH 3.0 pods (dual mesh). OXVA claims they offer improved leak resistance, longevity, and flavor. They also feature a new “Super Pulse System.” Although the precise technology is unclear, it’s said to produce finer vapor and a denser draw. Manufacturer claims aside, let’s see how these pods actually performed during two weeks of testing.
0.8-ohm pod (MTL): To really put this pod to the test, I used one of my tried-and-true MTL flavors: Guava Jelly from Deep Cuts (12 mg, 50/50 freebase). I know exactly how this liquid should taste, and the 0.8-ohm pod captured it beautifully! The flavor is incredible—some of the best I’ve had from a higher-resistance pod. At the time of writing, it’s gone through 30 mL and still performs like new.
0.6-ohm pod (RDL): I decided to use a 70VG e-liquid in this pod to test the wicking capabilities. It handled it flawlessly, and the flavor was on par with the 0.8-ohm pod. In fact, I would probably include it in my top three RDL pods. Sadly, it suddenly started dry-hitting at around the 30 mL mark. This was unexpected since the flavor hadn’t even begun to drop and the power was only 25 watts (ECO mode). I suspect I received a faulty pod.
My only criticism here involves the airflow, rather than the pods themselves. The wide-open airflow for RDL is perfectly smooth, but tight-MTL vapers may be disappointed. As mentioned, the AFC doesn’t open a separate MTL pinhole when fully closed. To get a tight MTL draw, you need to move the slider down to a tiny, precise sliver. If you don’t position it just right, you may experience slight turbulence or whistling.
Battery life and charging
The NeXLIM 2 and 2 Mini have different batteries and charge rates, so I’ll address them separately.
The full-size version features a 2000 mAh battery, a massive upgrade over the V1 (1500 mAh). OXVA also increased the charge rate from 2 amps to 3 amps. My testing measured a recharge capacity of 1621 mAh, which falls within the acceptable 20% window for pod vapes. A full charge takes 49-54 minutes, and a full battery delivers about 9 mL of runtime.
The NeXLIM Mini dials everything down a bit. In fact, it mirrors the original NeXLIM: 1500 mAh with 2-amp charging. The charge time was decent (60 minutes), but the recharge capacity fell outside the 20% window. At most, I managed to put 1103 mAh back into the battery, so a 1350 mAh rating seems more fitting. Also, the overall runtime was only 6 mL per charge, a noticeable drop from the original (7.5-8.5 mL).

Verdict
Few pod vapes have generated as much anticipation for me as the OXVA NeXLIM 2. The V1 laid a great foundation with its fantastic pods and distinct design; the sky was the limit. And the V2 is a worthy follow-up. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but rather builds on the foundation with some key refinements. As a bonus, it’s being released alongside the NeXLIM 2 Mini, a simple, stealthy option that doesn’t sacrifice flexibility or performance.
That said, given the high expectations, the minor upgrades may underwhelm some users. The larger battery and enhanced menu are great, but in many ways, it’s also more of the same. It’s the NeXLIM we all know and love, just a little bit better. Is that a bad thing? I certainly don’t think so.
I could find only two notable cons with these devices, and the first won’t affect everyone. There is no MTL pinhole on the airflow slider. Also, the Mini’s battery appears to be overrated, which obviously impacts runtime. 6 mL per charge is still respectable; it just doesn’t compete with the OG NeXLIM.
Cons aside, these are two of my favorite pod vapes so far in 2026. The build quality is exceptional, the hand feel is outstanding, and the UNITECH 3.0 pods deliver some of the best flavor on the market. With the right expectations, most users will love the NeXLIM 2 even more than the original. It’s a step forward; it’s just not a leap.
