Product intro and specs
Powered by COREX 3.0 technology, the fifth-generation XROS devices were among the best pod vapes of 2025. Expectations were high, and VAPORESSO delivered. But the fun isn’t over yet! With the regular, Mini, and Pro versions out of the way, one final installment still remains. Introducing the VAPORESSO XROS 5 NANO!
Like its predecessor, the latest NANO is the most advanced device in the series. It features a 1.09-inch color display, a 1600 mAh battery, and an assortment of features and customization options. More notably, it’s the first XROS to implement a touchscreen. It’s a bold direction that probably won’t appeal to everyone, but one that feels inevitable given the popularity of touchscreen vapes.
I tend to gravitate to simpler devices, but there’s something endearing about the XROS 5 NANO. The design, hand feel, and functionality won me over immediately. Unfortunately, some surprising flaws countered my initial impressions. Did the good outweigh the bad in the end? Keep reading to find out.

Build quality and design
The design of the XROS 5 NANO may be the most impressive in the series’ long-running history. It features a zinc alloy chassis, unique front and back panels, and a large screen with an ornate, smartwatch-like bezel. The overall aesthetic is stunning, evoking a classy, techy feel while remaining approachable. It’s also surprisingly lightweight (86 grams), giving it an advantage over similar devices like the XLIM SQ Pro 2 and the REXA SMART.
There are only two moving parts on the device itself: a small button and an airflow slider. The button (I’ll discuss its purpose later) is relatively firm and has a satisfying click. The airflow slider tension is flawless, allowing you to lock in a precise draw without worrying about it slipping out of position. It also offers an MTL pinhole option when completely closed, which always scores big points from me.
Despite being slightly smaller, the XROS 5 NANO’s screen is a significant improvement over the V4. The colors are richer, the fonts and styles feel more modern, and the menu is more elaborate. The V4 simply feels outdated in comparison. And, of course, the new touchscreen enhances its usability. It’s incredibly snappy and responsive, and it simplifies menu navigation. Overall, it’s a fantastic display; I wouldn’t change a thing.
Unfortunately, while there’s a lot to love here, I did have some issues with the two samples I received. One of them had a mysterious, clear liquid in the pod chamber (I suspect it was VG from a pod used during QC). My other device arrived with a loose back panel. It’s impossible to know whether these problems will carry over to production units, but they’re worth noting.
Getting started
Explaining how to use touchscreen devices often makes them seem complicated when, in reality, they’re usually straightforward. The XROS 5 NANO is no exception. Power it on, start swiping, and you’ll have it figured out in no time. Here’s a quick guide to reference while you’re getting started:
- Five clicks to power on or off
- One click to wake or lock the device, or return to the home screen
- Swipe up to unlock the screen
- Swipe right to change the power
- Swipe left to view puff history
- Swipe down to access device settings
- Swipe up for quick access to various settings and apps
- Press and hold the home screen to change themes
There are a couple of things worth mentioning here. First, the physical button on the side of the device is not for firing. It simply makes the UI more efficient by substituting clicks for swipes in specific scenarios. Also, note that the option to turn animations on or off is called “UI Motion.” However, only select themes have animations, so enabling them won’t always make a difference.
As with many recent XROS devices, precise wattage adjustments are available only with the 0.4-ohm pods (included with the Global version). For all other pods, you only get three options: Eco, Normal, and Power. While this has never bothered me before, it seems out of place here. A feature-rich pod vape like this deserves more flexibility, even if it were just a menu option that you could toggle on or off.
Filling XROS pods is as easy as it gets, and most of you already know the drill. Push against the broad side of the mouthpiece to crack the pod open, then insert the bottle tip into the red fill hole. If it’s a fresh pod, allow the liquid to saturate the cotton for 5-10 minutes before vaping.
Performance
The VAPORESSO XROS 5 NANO includes two COREX 3.0 pods: 0.6 and 0.8 ohm. I’ve gone through several of these pods over the past year, so this was the easiest part of the review. Before even opening the package, I knew I’d be getting top-tier performance. In my opinion, these are some of the best pods on the market, rivaled only by the XLIM series.
0.6-ohm pod: This pod supports both RDL and MTL, but I opted for the latter. I filled it with a 50/50 tobacco e-liquid (12 mg freebase), and the flavor has been incredible. Of course, that’s no surprise, as I’ve never had a disappointing experience with this pod. It can handle just about anything: tobacco, dessert, fruit, etc. And, as usual, it wicks flawlessly (no leaking or dry hits), and the airflow is silky-smooth.
0.8-ohm pod: Although I tend to prefer 0.6-ohm pods, the 0.8-ohm COREX 3.0 pod is one of the few exceptions. It performs equally well, and I’ve never been able to pick a favorite between the two. I used a 24 mg (nic salt) coconut cream flavor, and it was so delicious that I polished off the entire bottle in about ten days.
These pods are also among the best I’ve tested for longevity (along with OXVA UNITECH 2.0 and VOOPOO iCOSM CODE 2.0). At the time of writing, each has gone through 30-40 mL, and they’re still performing beautifully.
Battery life and charging
One of my favorite things about the XROS 5 NANO is the balance between battery size, device weight, and charging time. It features a 1600 mAh battery, weighs 86 grams, and charges in 45-50 minutes. Although none of these stats are groundbreaking, the ratio seems ideal for a pod vape of its size. Interestingly, VAPORESSO advertises a 45-minute charge, so this was a rare occurrence in which my testing mirrored the manufacturer’s claim.
As for runtime, I’ve been getting just over two fills per charge (6.2 mL). For me, this feels like the ideal amount because it makes battery life extremely predictable.

Verdict
Given the devices that preceded it, the XROS 5 NANO seems like the natural step forward in the series’ evolution. Rather than swinging for the fences, VAPORESSO implemented incremental upgrades, all of which were successful. The touchscreen functionality is excellent, the UI is intuitive, the design has broad appeal, and the battery capabilities are solid. Most importantly, it’s an exceptional performer, thanks to the COREX 3.0 pods. It’s almost perfect. Almost.
My only objective complaint is the condition of my review samples. Granted, this might not be a realistic concern for regular consumers, but I can only report on the products I received. What’s unfortunate is that it’s the only factor keeping it from getting a perfect score.
Regardless, the flaws I encountered don’t detract from the overall experience. In fact, the XROS 5 NANO has become one of my top five favorite pod vapes, and that’s a tough spot to earn.
Highly recommended.
