Moon rocks have been a highly sought-after commodity in the world of cannabis products. Yet there are still some cannabis users out there who have yet to try them. These days, you don't have to be in a legal cannabis state to get some legal CBD moon rocks.
They are perfect for when you want to kick up the cannabidiol content a notch with your favorite CBD flower and CBG bud. This guide explains exactly what they are and how to use them. These are the best CBD and delta 8 moon rocks that you can currently get your hands on.
What are moon rocks?
Moon rocks are a potent concoction made using three types of cannabis products: flower, oil, and kief. Moon rocks generally start out with dense nugs that are dipped in THC oil, CBD distillate(or any other cannabinoid oil) then rolled or dusted in pure kief. CBD moon rocks are now widely available because they can be made with high-CBD strains or CBG flower and various concentrates containing less than 0.3% Δ9 THC.
As seen in the video, you can DIY moonrocks, though you'll need a lot of oil and kief. For most people, buying them premade is the easiest way to obtain this high-cannabinoid product.
The potency of moon rocks typically ranges anywhere from 50% to 90% cannabinoids, which is similar to hash. The effects are a lot more pronounced than flower with the considerable amount of cannabinoids involved in their making. Luckily, moonrocks last much longer than typical flower because of their strength and the difficulty with consuming them. For instance, moon rocks are rarely vaped or smoked straight, but more often mixed together with straight flower.
How to vape moon rocks
The best way to vape moon rocks is to sprinkle them on top of your packed flower. Use one part moon rock for every four parts bud. Be sure to break them up really well for vaping. You'll need a clean and sharp pair of scissors because they are going to be either too dense or too sticky to break up by hand. A grinder is not ideal for this situation, you'll end up losing some precious CBD and it could actually mess up your grinder.
You don't need to use too much; a tiny bit of moon rock could contain hundreds of mg of cannabinoids! As the vape heats up, the moon rocks will slowly melt into your flower and eventually turn into vapor. CBD moon rocks won't get you very high but if you're using THC moon rocks, then use them responsibly. They will take you to the moon and back! This also applies to moon rocks containing delta 8 THC.
Best vapes for moon rocks
The best vaporizers for pure moon rocks tend to be the ones that utilize conduction heating. Some vapes come with an oil pad, or you can use an organic cotton ball as a substitute. But if you're mixing it with flower, which is a more common way to vape moon rocks, most conduction-based weed vaporizers will work, and the same goes for portables.
Dab pens are not suitable for moon rocks because they aren't capable of vaporizing plant matter, especially whole dense nugs.
How to smoke moonrocks
You typically don't want to smoke moon rocks straight. Just like for vaping, you'll want to use a small amount of moon rock to flower. A 1:4 ratio is a good balance, e.g., 0.1 g of moon rock for every 0.4 g of flower. You don't have to use a precision scale, but it's a decent rule of thumb. If you use too much moon rock, it might be frustrating when you're attempting to keep your joint or bowl lit. Don’t worry, it’s worth it.
Moon rocks can be added to a joint, glass pipe, or bong. Always pack your flower first, then sprinkle some on top. If the moon rocks are too moist, they are going to be even harder to light. Some moon rock users find using hemp wicks help with that issue. Torches are not ideal for moon rocks because they run very hot and can burn them up too quickly.
