The Geekvape Sonder Q and Wenax Q are the latest pod systems by Geekvape, and as the name suggests, they are both compatible with the Q line of pods. Geekvape has long been making good products, and what really burst them on the scene was their popular Aegis mod which was one of the first rugged mods made. These two devices, however, are simple pod vapes and similar in style to the previous entry of the Wenax line, the Wenax H1.
The Wenax Q is the fancier of the two, boasting a full black and white screen, adjustable power from 5 to 25 watts, and a battery rated at 1000 mAh. The Sonder Q is a simpler device with no screen, power adjustment, or buttons. The pods have a 2 mL capacity and come in three resistance options; 0.6, 0.8, and 1.2 ohm.

Build quality and design
The Wenax Q and Sonder Q are very similar in design. The Wenax is slightly longer and has a smooth surface, while the Sonder has a ribbed surface. Both feature an air slider on the side that adjusts from a tight MTL to a restricted DL. They are really best for MTL vaping though, due to the low wattage, but they offer some adjustment as to how tight you may like it.
Like all basic pods, they are both light and very pocketable. They feel well-built, though, and should easily hold up to daily usage. Color options are plentiful on both. The Sonder comes in ten options—six solid colors and four multi-color. The Wenax Q comes in eight options, three solid colors and five that start off as a lighter shade on the bottom and then get darker on the top. Enough options to have something for everyone.
As far as design goes, the Sonder Q is as simple as it comes. The body is full color with nothing but a Sonder logo which acts as the LED battery level and an air slider on the side. It’s classic and simple in design. The more featured Wenax Q offers a full black and white screen on the front, which displays battery level, wattage, and a puff counter. Under the LED is the “everything” button, which I'll go over later. All in all, two simple and well-designed pods.
Getting started
The Sonder Q is a very basic and easy-to-use pod. No buttons, no on/off, and no settings. Just inhale when you want to vape and pocket it when you are on the go.
The Wenax Q does have one button that does everything. Clicking it five times turns the device on and off. It can be used as a fire button, but the device is also inhale-to-fire and I prefer using it that way. Clicking it three times enters wattage adjust mode, and it only allows adjustments within the range of the coils, so no worries about going too high. Good feature for beginners, and still pretty easy to use.
They both use the Q pods, which are magnetic and come in and out very easily. The pod is not tight in there, but the magnets hold it in place well with no wiggle. Filling the pod is as easy as can be and is done while still in the device since it fills from the top. Pushing back on the drip tip pops it off, which exposes the fill hole. There’s a rubber flap, and the hole fits a fine-tip bottle easily.
The pod is half-exposed and thankfully non-tinted. But since you can’t see the bottom, you have to tilt it to see how much juice is left when running low. Not a big deal, but worth the mention.
Overall, usage on both devices is perfect for first-time vapers looking to quit smoking, or someone who wants something small that doesn't make a lot of vapor to get through the day.
Performance
Both devices use the pods of the Q series. The Sonder Q came with the 0.8-ohm pod (12-18 watts,) but the site says it’s also available with the 0.6-ohm pod (18-25 watts.) It only comes with one pod and no spare, so I’ll ding them for that—you should always get two pods, in my opinion. The Wenax Q comes with two pods, the 0.6-ohm one and a 1.2-ohm pod (8-12 watts).
All three coils of the line gave me at least ten refills, so they offer good coil life. And they all vaped very well with good flavor. The 1.2-ohm coil is best for the tighter MTL vapers, while the 0.8-ohm and 0.6-ohm coils work well for people who like a little looser draw. Overall though, all the coils are good, and it really comes down to preference and vaping style.
Battery life and charging
Battery life seems very sufficient on both devices and should last all day for most people. Both devices are listed with a 1000 mAh battery capacity but no listed charge rate on their site.
testing the Sonder Q, I got a max charge rate of 0.74A, so it would probably get a 1A rating since most of the time it’s rounded up by companies. I timed a full charge at about 85 mins, which is below average—most pods charge in 30-60 minutes. But in this case, the charge speed is acceptable due to the Sonder having a larger battery than its competition.
For battery capacity, I got a usable 1000 mAh, so their rating is excellent. Most pod batteries are rated about 20% higher than you actually get due to soft cell cut-off and other reasons I’ve mentioned in previous reviews. This one gives the stated amount, so I'm very happy about that.
The Sonder logo LED on the front shows battery life in three steps, but as always, I would prefer four evenly-spaced steps.

- Red light: 0-30%
For the Wenax Q, I got a max charge rate of 0.96A, so a 1A rating would be on point. For charge time, it’s about 70 mins. For battery capacity, I got a usable 980 mAh, so an excellent rating once again.
Overall, good job with the charging and listed battery sizes of both, but the Wenax Q will charge a little faster.

Overall, Geekvape made two good pod systems in the Sonder Q and Wenax Q, and you can’t go wrong with either. It just comes down to personal preference.
If you want a cheaper and smaller one that charges slower but is simpler, the Sonder Q fits the bill. If you don’t mind paying a little more and want a screen, adjustable wattage, and faster charging, go with the Wenax. Both are great performers, are easy to use, and take long-lasting pods with good flavor.
