FEELM Disposable Tech Review: Smooth up to the Last Hit

If you are a beginner vaper, or have been introduced to vaping at some point in the last couple of years, there’s a high chance that your eye has caught the “FEELM Inside” logo on a pod vape. FEELM Tech, a subsidiary of Smoore which is the parent company of VAPORESSO, entered the prefilled pod market circa 2018 and has since conquered a large chunk of it.

FEELM is an atomization technology that doesn’t require a wick or a coil. In many ways, it’s the evolution of ceramic atomizers—an efficient way to vaporize e-liquid and a perfect fit for prefilled vapes. And after a successful run in a variety of pod-based devices, the latest iteration of this tech finds its way into the disposable vape market.

In this review, I will be testing FEELM Tech’s OEM disposables, which come with a brand new ceramic atomizer design. These disposables will only be available through B2B channels, so I won’t be discussing flavors in this review—I will just focus on the tech side of things.

Size, weight, and feel

The FEELM disposables come in a variety of bright colors. I received a bunch of them, and the white unit is probably the only one that won’t catch eyes from across the room. I am personally not a fan of vapes that catch attention, and the bright LED that lights up every time you inhale isn’t helping much either. But that’s certainly subjective.

The device is flat shaped and thin, which makes it very pocketable. It’s also super lightweight, weighing only 17 grams when full. I can throw three of them in my pocket and forget they are there. And the flat shape extends to the mouthpiece, making it very comfortable in the mouth.

Each device comes with 1.6 mL of e-liquid and the battery is rated at 300 mAh. The latter is probably not a useful spec to list, as this is a disposable vape that will hit the bin once it’s empty. But I wish the capacity of the pods were a bit higher, which would make it a bit more environmentally friendly. As it is right now, you may need to dispose of one of these per day.

The devices are branded in three areas: two protruding flat areas close to the mouthpiece, and a “FEELM Inside” etched at the bottom of one side. The units I received had FEELM stickers on the flat areas, but I am pretty sure that they are placeholders for stickers with the branding of FEELM’s business customers.

Overall, the FEELM disposables are not exactly aesthetically pleasing, but that shouldn’t be much of an issue if they get the job done.

Getting started

With the FEELM disposables being, well, disposables, there’s not much need for a tutorial when it comes to usage. You just need to take the device out of its packaging and inhale on the mouthpiece. Once the device is empty, just dispose of it in the trash. You’ll know it’s time when the LED light blinks ten times and the device doesn’t produce vapor anymore.

A point that FEELM Tech really wants to push is the fact that these disposables come without a silicon plug. Disposables often use these plugs to create a vacuum that prevents leaking and/or flooding, but in the FEELM disposables, this is not necessary. And I can vouch for it. I didn’t have any leaking or flooding with these devices, and they have been smooth from the first up to the last hit.

How does it hit?

The hit on the FEELM disposables is very satisfying and cigarette-like. The new coil design (which you can see at a close-up in the image above) seems to be a great fit for this type of device. I have to note that I received two batches, and the first one was a little bit problematic. But to FEELM’s credit, they listened to our feedback, and it seems that they made some adjustments for the second batch.

At this point, I’d like to briefly discuss the way FEELM Tech conducts business. When most companies are usually resistant to feedback and often respond to constructive criticism in a defensive way, FEELM Tech is one of the companies that seem to really listen to what reviewers have to say. Not sure if they updated the design or just used juice that better suits their atomizer technology, but after using both batches extensively, I can honestly say that the experience was much better the second time around.

The second batch they sent had a smooth draw, no dry hits at all, and offered a very pleasant experience overall. Flavor was clean, the mentholated flavors were refreshing but not overwhelming, and the devices didn’t miss a hit. My only complaint is that the highest nic content I received was 24 mg, and I wish they had sent something stronger. But I am confident that retail versions of this device will come with higher nic options, and I would advise new vapers to go for something in the 30-50 mg area.

Verdict

As far as disposables go, these show a lot of potential. Their atomization tech works as advertised, and the second batch I received was practically problem-free. Smooth hit, good flavor for a beginner-type device, and not even a drop of juice in the mouth—which happens a lot with disposables.

Personally, I’m not a big fan of colorful vapes, and I would advise them to release some black or dark gray options. But outside of that, every other con is more of a nature of the beast kind of thing and nothing I can fault FEELM Tech about.

As with all OEM disposables, your experience will vary depending on the flavors used. I hope this design is picked up by some legit juice manufacturers because they’d be a great option for someone looking to quit. And that’s especially true if 30-50 mg retail options are available.
