Flavor is a highly subjective topic, and this certainly applies to nicotine pouches like ZYN. The best flavor is ultimately determined by the user, and it won’t be the same for everyone. Mint lovers will gravitate to mint and menthol blends, while others may prefer fruit and dessert options. It’s all a matter of personal taste. Subjectivity aside, there’s no denying that some ZYNs are considerably more popular than others, and identifying those flavors can be insightful.
To determine the best ZYN flavors, we analyzed hundreds of Reddit responses, social media rankings and reviews, and best-sellers from online vendors. Each of these sources will be reported on independently, but we’ll conclude by averaging the results into an all-encompassing list.

All ZYN flavors on the US market
There are different ZYN flavors and strengths available depending on one’s location in the world. To establish a level playing field, we’re exclusively focusing on the U.S. market. Thus, some fan favorites (such as Apple Mint, Black Cherry, and Bellini) will not be included in the rankings. In the U.S., there are two nicotine strengths (3 mg and 6 mg) and ten flavors available:
- Chill: unflavored with a menthol chill
- Cinnamon: sweet cinnamon flavor
- Citrus: sweet and tart lemon and lime blend
- Coffee: rich, freshly brewed mocha
- Cool Mint: icy mint flavor
- Menthol: cool menthol and mint
- Peppermint: crisp peppermint blend
- Smooth: unflavored
- Spearmint: smooth and sweet spearmint
- Wintergreen: refreshing and slightly sweet wintergreen
Best ZYN flavors according to Reddit users
For this analysis, we referenced multiple Reddit posts and gathered over 200 responses. To determine the final score, all ZYN flavors were given 20 to 100 points depending on their ranking (last-place responses were disregarded). Here are the results:

The Reddit polls highlighted a significant disparity between the best and worst ZYN flavors. The top four—Coffee, Spearmint, Peppermint, and Wintergreen—were way ahead of the pack, collectively claiming 63% of the number-one votes. On the other hand, Chill, Smooth, and Menthol were considerably underrepresented—only 10% of users ranked them as their favorites.
Favorite ZYNs on social media and websites
Turning to social media, we looked at the best ZYN flavors as determined by TikTok and YouTube creators, as well as ranking articles from websites. The scores were calculated in the same manner as the Reddit analysis. It’s worth noting that this sample size was significantly smaller than the other categories.

There were a couple of interesting findings here. Citrus, which was voted number six on Reddit, jumped to the number one spot (just barely sneaking past Wintergreen). Conversely, Spearmint and Coffee—the top two flavors on Reddit—dramatically dropped to number six and seven.
Like many users, I think ZYN’s mint trifecta (wintergreen, peppermint, and spearmint) is a force to be reckoned with. Wintergreen is my personal favorite of the bunch. Not only is it tasty and refreshing, but I never get bored with it, so I find myself reaching for it more often than the others. And if wintergreen isn’t an option, peppermint and spearmint are reliable backups.
However, mint flavors can be overpowering, so they aren’t always the ideal choice. When my sweet tooth is beckoning, or I’m drinking coffee or dark beer, coffee ZYNs seem to hit the spot. It’s a perfect change of pace, and it doesn’t linger on my taste buds like the mint and menthol options. This is also why, in certain situations, I might be inclined to pop a citrus ZYN. Although it’s far from my favorite, it’s one of the most mellow and unassuming flavors in the lineup, and sometimes that’s exactly what I need.
Lastly, I have to agree with the majority: menthol ZYNs may be the worst-tasting nicotine pouches I’ve ever tried. The flavor is odd (almost medicinal) and completely overwhelms my senses. While I accept that some people enjoy them, I’ll never understand why.
Most popular ZYN flavors (best-selling)
This analysis was trickier since we don’t have access to sales stats from online vendors, and sorting by “most popular” was either unreliable or not an option. Also, using the average review score was an unfair representation since some products only had a single review, whereas others had dozens.
Instead, we opted to focus on the number of user reviews, which is usually a good indication of popularity. Most vendors list different nicotine strengths as unique products, so we combined the 3 mg and 6 mg totals for the final rankings.

Closely mirroring the Reddit votes, Coffee, Spearmint, Peppermint, and Wintergreen seemed to be the most popular ZYNs. Those four flavors again landed in the top four spots, accounting for 59% of user reviews. Likewise, Chill, Smooth, and Menthol found themselves back at the bottom of the pile, accumulating only 10% of reviews.
Best ZYN flavors ranked
Since no single source is entirely reliable, we averaged the rankings from all three categories to provide a more accurate representation of the best ZYN flavors.
Although this ranking system is imperfect and merely accounts for a tiny fraction of users, it does paint an interesting picture of consumer appeal and approval. The ten ZYN flavors we evaluated seem to fall into three distinct tiers:
Top tier: the runaway favorite ZYN flavors were Wintergreen, Spearmint, Coffee, and Peppermint, with an average ranking of 2.33 to 3.67. If you’re a new nicotine pouch user, these are probably the most reliable options to start with.
Middle tier: Cinnamon, Cool Mint, and Citrus seem to be the wild cards. Although many users rave about them (there are some die-hard cinnamon fans out there), these three flavors ultimately settled in the middle of the pack. Their average rankings were 4.67 to 5.67.
Bottom tier: this was the most consistent and well-established tier. Chill, Smooth, and Menthol claimed the same spots in all three reports. To be fair, Chill and Smooth are unflavored options, which only appeal to a small subset of users. It’s not surprising that they aren’t as popular as the flavored varieties. Menthol, however, seems to be commonly disliked.
Again, it’s important to remember that flavor is completely subjective, so terms like “best” and “worst” should be taken with a grain of salt. Every ZYN flavor will appeal to someone, but none of them will appeal to everyone.
