PCKT One Plus Review: A Luxurious 510 Oil Vape

The PCKT One Plus is a 510 thread battery designed specifically for vaporizing cannabis oil. It has a 660 mAh battery capacity and is compatible with most CBD oil cartridges and weed oil pens. It also has three power settings and charges via micro USB. The device is CNC-machined out of a block of metal, and appears to be a lot more resilient than your standard oil pen.

I'm going to be testing it for compatibility with various delta 8 carts and a few I filled myself with CBD e-liquid. I will not be doing any drop tests with it, but it seems like it would be able to handle a decent amount of abuse. Let's find out how the PCKT performs.

Build quality and design

The PCKT One Plus feels like a very well machined vape. It is solid and robust. The device has a brushed matte steel finish with an engraving of the PCKT logo, and a simple rectangular shape with rounded edges.

Its dimensions are 1.65" in width, 3.54" in height and 0.94" in depth. It is capable of accommodating virtually any type of 510 oil cartridge up to 11.5 mm in diameter. At 60 grams, it's rather lightweight, considering how robust it is. With a full gram-sized cartridge, it weighs out to 90 grams in total. It was designed to fit perfectly in your pocket, so it lives up to its name.

The PCKT One Plus was delivered with two of their refillable 0.5 mL SPRK cartridges, designed by concentrate makers out of San Francisco. The cartridge utilizes a dual ceramic core and features a gold plated magnetic connection that allows you to drop it directly into the PCKT, without the use of an adapter. The SPRK cartridges also features an easy top-fill system. The magnetic connection was solid and never failed when using both the SPRK tank and the adapter.

The device has a simple one-button LED interface. There are three power settings ranging from 3.7 to 5.1 watts. It's draw-activated with most cartridges, though some carts may require you to use the fire button to vape. When using draw-activated compatible cartridges, the button activates a preheat mode which sends a low voltage to prime your oil by slightly warming it up.

It also utilizes an internal battery with an overall capacity of 660 mAh. I have tested it out with a variety of cartridges over the course of a 2-3 days before I ever had to recharge it. The unit is also capable of pass-through charging, and takes about 45 minutes to reach a full charge.

I tested the PCKT One Plus using as many types of cartridges as possible to check for cross compatibility. This included three different kinds of pre-filled CBD cartridges, a THC oil cartridge, a wax cartridge and the included SPRK tank filled with some CBD vape juice containing 70% VG. Every single cartridge worked perfectly with the PCKT One Plus. All of them were compatible with its draw-activation feature, except for one of the CBD tanks and the wax cart. It wasn't a big deal, I just used the fire button to vape. In order to use the preheat function, you just hold down the button for a few seconds and continue to hold it while vaping.

In my experience with the PCKT One Plus, it never reached that point where the wicks start to burn out. The hits were consistently smooth and flavorful. I find it interesting that they use variable wattage to describe the power settings instead of the usual variable voltage. In any case, it seems like they figured out the right wattage settings for the average oil cartridge.

On the lowest setting, the vapor production is minimal. It still provides a very smooth hit, which some vapers might be chasing after. The medium setting gave me a bit more of a substantial hit, with more vapor, yet still very smooth. Finally, the highest setting was my favorite because it provides a slightly warmer hit and a decent cloud to go with it. At that setting, it never burned out my coil, even when taking some rather long (seven-second) draws.

If you're trying to maximize the effects of your oil, I would suggest sticking with the medium or high setting on the PCKT One Plus. The lowest setting is a suitable option for the more casual toker. Overall the performance was nothing less than satisfying with every tank I've tested.

The flavor on the SPRK tank was not bad, but it's way more appropriate for concentrates than for e-juice. Even so, I didn't experience gurgling, leaking or spitback at all while vaping a 70/30 blend. According to the manufacturer, the SPRK cartridges work best with thicker oils. They are perfect for pure THC distillate, but still work fine with THC and CBD infused vape juice. The only downside is that you run the risk of leakage if you leave it sitting in a hot car for example. There is also a 510 version available of the SPRK catridge that is compatible with all of your standard vape pens.

Pros / Cons

Verdict

The PCKT One Plus happens to be one of the most high-end vapes (for oil) that I've tested thus far. It's not exactly cheap, but I think it's worth the price tag considering how rugged it's made. For the price, it's a bit more than your typical stick battery or oil vape, but you get what you pay for. If you vape oil carts on a regular basis, and don't mind spending a bit more for a vape that's resilient and pocketable, then make sure you have a look at the PCKT One Plus. The SPRK cartridges are also a nice companion to have if you want to use your own CBD e-juice with it.
